Radiata Stories, a ridiculously ambitious rpg where npcs not only moved around on a schedule they had massive intertwined stories and relationships that helped you recruit them.

I still hope for a spiritual successor some day.

Hmm, if you want a fantasy party-based RPG I've heard good things about Wrath of the Righteous.

BG3's an obvious recommendation but Larian's older stuff with Divinity is also very good.

And if you're down for something older and more sci-fi KOTOR scratches a lot of the same itch for me
