An old looking stairwell from a fire escape, enclosed in white stone brick with a glossy red handrail. On the fair landing of the photo is water damage on the walls and the concrete floors. There is a vertical pipe for fire suppression, and a fire hydrant locked behind glass next to it. You can vaguely see more flights descending below it, but not clearly enough to see other floors A fire exit stairwell landing, dimly lit, with a wall receptacle high above the ground. Connected to it is a dangling surge protector, with another single cable coming out of it to wrap around a water pipe whose protective padding has long since started to rot away. A mess of cables weave between the pipes, most originating from the surge protector. It makes me think that if I flip the tiny glowing switch on it the whole building will shut off. A railing, coated in myriad layers of dust. You can see hand prints, some newer, some older, of others who have been down here before. It seems you are near the bottom of the stair well, lit only by artificial lighting. Even the floor is coated in dirt, and various ages of footprints are found on the few steps visible. Despite all the hand prints on the railing, none of them seem new enough to see the sheen that ought to belong to its coat of paint. A corner through a narrow hallway, flanked on both sides by white stone bricks. The concrete floor is so thoroughly covered in dust its barely visible. A red arrow labeled exit points to a turn in the hallway you can only see a glimpse of. The far wall only has an air vent, an overhead incandescent light that is oddly low hanging, and a spider web spanning atleast a foot in any direction. Is the spider the only other thing alive down here? Is it still alive? Or are you the single observer left to see this?
