Last but far from least, the mod will allow you to configure not just the wanted level when officers will begin to drive-by, but also introduce retaliatory drive-by's regardless of your set wanted level for passive drive-by, ensuring the cops won't just sit back and take it.

On top of that, when enabled, it ties into a whole new passive surrender mechanic, wherein by simply doing nothing, you may be able to try to surrender to the pursuing officers — be it in car or on foot.

This combines nicely with their ability to escalate the wanted level at situations they previously didn't react to at all, or did so with greater delay, making them more responsive to developing events.

A feature togglable through the config makes cops hold fire by default until you do something to warrant a response in deadly force, unlike in vanilla.

This can be anything from walking into an officer's perceived personal space, to ramming — or trying to ram them, aiming or shooting their way.

The end result though, when it works, are some pretty rad police assaults that can whittle down your health or ammo, or both.

As of now the tac units only assault in waves once enough of them have pulled up, but I've also ran it with them assaulting as soon as any given unit arrives. Both have their merits.

The greatest challenge so far has been having them sweep the interior locations reliably, not wander outside.

One of my favorite things I've been cooking up (and reworking multiple times) in regards the GTA IV police overhaul, are barricade hostage situations.

In short, regular cops that pull up after a wanted threshold will only secure perimeter of the bulding you're in, with only tac units breaching.

Content time I guess!

Not yet tracked for an actual update for Felony Rework, but I experimented last year with increased cop acceleration and top speeds.

It makes for some way more intense moments even if unfair. With traffic enabled it would of course be more challenging for them.
