Gray founded the #MissionGrayWolf22 program to provide military groups opportunities to attend Rangers games. He was the Rangers 2023 Lou Gehrig and Bob Feller Act of Valor nominee. In 2024, he was inducted into the North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame (NAIAHF).

Jon Gray (Cherokee Nation) was the 2013 College Baseball National Pitcher of the Year & 1st Team All American for the Univ. Oklahoma Sooners. He was the #3 overall draft pick by the Rockies. He won the 2023 World Series w/ the Texas Rangers allowing 0 runs, 0 BB, and only 2 hits in 2 WS games.
