IIRC in the first few games he does have a symbol that looks like a peace sign? but it is possible for it to be both things, a dr slump-ian sight gag of sorts: a peace sign looks like a bunny rabbit. this symbol from Planet Robobot is clearly playing up the similarity between the two things

Today I am learning that ppl think the symbol associated with Dedede is a peace sign. did the locs ever claim this? seems obvious it's a rabbit, because Kirby is Of The Stars, and in Japanese culture bunnies are pounding mochi on the moon, and Dedede wields a hammer, and kirby is squishy like mochi
