Look at Hitler's family, they decided to stop having kids so that no one would look to their progeny for any kind of Fourth Reich. That didn't really stop the US, but also the idea that ancestry is important is also a very fascist ideology, so it's kind like... Eh?

I think the important thing is the difficulty of people looking at someone as though they share in the guilt of their ancestor's crimes, and not wanting to deal with that, but also not wanting to be forced to change your life and identity because of that.
