Remembering Jim Rinnert and his very cool and impactful career. During my short stint at In These Times, his office was the coolest spot--it felt like walking onto a set. He also had some primo Ward Sutton illustrations up that I still think about today.

Here's a memory permanently etched into my brain: Popped into Safeway in Spokane, to buy a newspaper to look up the baseball schedule, wearing my prized "Diary of a Madman" baseball T. Within 30 seconds, from across the store, a drunk started hollering, top of his lungs, "DIARRHEA OF A MADMAN!"

Facebook is running ads right now saying the election may be postponed, or that Harris may drop out. The ads appear to violate the company’s misinfo rules, but they’re still live. FB has taken >$1M from the advertisers, including >$350k this week.
