“And the marijuana helps with that, does it?” It's steeped in the kind of sarcastic condescension that makes Daniel's insides feel a little hot and a little liquid. He resists the urge to squirm in his seat and curses himself mentally for being so damn easy. “Yeah, actually,” he says, brash and rude to mask the simmering humiliation. “It slows everything down a little. Stops my mind racing so bad.” Armand hums in response, like he doesn't really agree but it isn't worth arguing about. His hand tangles with the curls at the back of Daniel's head, sharp nails scratching gentle arcs against his scalp. “Perhaps you should step away for a while,” he suggests. “Come back to it later with a rested mind and fresh eyes.” “Tried that,” Daniel huffs around a cloud of smoke. “Couldn't stay away long enough. Couldn't get my mind off it in any way that matters. Hey!” He pouts indignantly as the joint is plucked from his fingers. As Armand brings it to his own lips and takes a drag, he's formulating a string of protests about how this is the end of his stash and he'd rather it wasn't wasted on someone who can't get high the old fashioned way anyway. They die in his throat, though, when Armand suddenly tugs on his hair, angling his head upwards and forcing his mouth just slightly open. Armand leans down so that the tips of their noses brush together and exhales directly between Daniel's parted lips. “Maybe I can be a more worthwhile distraction,” he whispers.
