Critical thinking isn’t about being contrarian or skeptical for the sake of it—it’s about intellectual humility, being willing to change your perspective when presented with strong evidence, and asking questions to ensure ideas are supported by facts.
Heard a radio host today joke that she maybe has “ADD like everyone nowadays” because she decorates for Christmas on December 22.

As someone who actually lives with ADHD, this kind of throwaway line minimizes a real disability that affects every part of daily life.

On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I speak as an employee with disabilities: my Employer’s celebration of accessibility rings hollow when their practices continue to create barriers.

The term “rightsizing” to describe layoffs and cuts to public services is misleading and disrespectful. This doublespeak downplays the real human impact by reframing it as a neutral, strategic adjustment instead of a decision that directly impacts people’s livelihoods, stability, and wellbeing.

I’ll admit that country music isn’t usually my thing. But when Terri Clark and Paul Brandt brought their tour to St. John’s, we couldn’t resist getting tickets. I’m so glad we did. They were funny, genuine, and absolutely inspiring.

On this day in 1997, Hélène Baillargeon died.
Born in 1916, she started her career as a folklorist before moving into singing. She is best known to Canadians for her time on Chez Hélène from 1959 to 1973. She later became a citizenship court judge.

The House of Commons is Canada’s stage. I don’t believe it was appropriate for the Canadian House of Commons to give Charlie Kirk a standing ovation. A standing ovation in Parliament is not a casual gesture. It communicates legitimacy and honor.

It’s really draining to be inundated with the toxicity of social media every single day. It feels like almost no one wants to have constructive discussion anymore. Everything turns into all-or-nothing, us-versus-them, and if you don’t agree 100%, you’re instantly the enemy.

I know this isn’t new,
