I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

This makes the second strike out for me based on Bluesky recommendations (the first being KPop Demon Hunters, for all its fun).

I can sympathize!

For whatever it's worth, I just had the piece I commissioned from you last year printed, and it'll be on my wall as soon as I can get a frame made for it. I'm looking forward to seeing it in my studio every day. :)

It is! I've been learning Blender in fits and starts and am trying to work my way into hard surface modeling. I'm nowhere near the point of modeling entire environments yet, but this will be handy to refer to when I get there. :)

That's a great use and rendering of light. I also really like the dynamism of the drow's pose!

Such exquisite moodiness. I'm definitely looking forward to the process post on this one if/when you end up adding it to Patreon.

This compounds with, of course, the art theft that these programs are built on, and the environmental impact of generative AI. Our talks aren’t made better with it 😞

I realize that many scientists are not confident in their art skills. Simple drawings made by scientists who may not be artistically talented are significantly better than the ai art because **the ai stuff is full of errors**. “Bad” but correct figures are better than “prettier” wrong ones.
