Father. Hot sauce chemist. Games of all kinds & their theory and design.
I was skeptical, and Sports-Reference SRS disagrees a bit, but that holds up by this objective performance metric (per play margins for Off/Def/Pts/TOs/Pens), adjusted for schedule.

Here's Week 12's Performance Against Strength of Schedule (PASS; alt text for more)

This week provides a chance for several of the more objectively efficient teams to rebound. If they can't, they'll likely see playoff hopes dwindle quickly. #cfb #cfp

Oregon is really strong. But the Hawkeyes are also a lot better per play for performance margins than many people likely realize.

A couple of crushing defeats among the more predictable trendlines bring us into Week 11 of Performance Against Strength of Schedule (PASS).

We're guaranteed another big swing as Top Ten BYU and Texas Tech go head to head.

It's objectively correct. At no point in this current series have I felt anywhere near as much drama. Also, Dodgers payroll kind of puts them off the map for best storyline

Teen/Adult me would say Pokemon Blue or Pokemon Pinball, but child me probably spent even more time playing this

Miami (FL) is good, but still in that second-tier, not-quite-serious level. The 4th place ACC (dominated by the other power 3 in non-conf margins) hurts more each week than it helps.

Whenever my formulas favor my alma mater I get overtly suspicious and feel like it's all broken. Nick Saban lauding Cincinnati as #2 in offensive officiency on live tv was vindication. (Higher ranked PASS team won over 81% of last week's games)

Week 10 objective performance rankings are here! In Week 9 the higher ranked team won over 81% of the time across all games.

Oregon started off at cheat-code Michigan performance levels this year, and have since tailed off. Ducks still remain the 4th best in the nation per play (against schedule).

The #CFB PASS Top 25 - always cool to see the results of actual on-field performance data graded against schedule, free of all opinions and other subjective data.

They were #4 in performance against strength of schedule *before* tonight. I'm scared. I don't know what to do.

Following Performance Against Strength of Schedule:
Oregon's pace crumbled a couple weeks ago, Miami was never *that* high, and Texas Tech has yet to be the top team in the Big XII. Opinion polls can be misleading (Higher ranked PASS team wins 72% of games, past 10 seasons).

The shot-calling streak of midweek close games continues

And technically an upset!

The Cubs may be out, but everyone else went home / to bed and while cleaning I just realized a pie I made earlier was still in my oven.

Happy to crown myself the one true winner of the NLDS 🍽️

The NCAA definition of "Targeting" is quite literally "Protection of Defenseless Players" as evidenced the "/" in this title. Just reinforcing that reading comprehension 📚

Not a defenseless player, not contact primarily to the head. But go off!

Big XII action yesterday was intense and trademark chaotic. The refs could not keep their flags in pocket, particularly on holding calls. There's blanket misunderstanding by the refs of what holding is - instead calling clean trap blocks and pancakes as penalties.

Img sums it up

Felt like insane fortune to snag a matsutake at market so I made a suimono - the mushroom is doing all the work here but easily one of the best things I've made

PASS rankings begin the week 1/1 as #63 proves to be too much for #110
