Time to work on one of my other layouts! This is South Park Quarry, and it's due at the Uckfield MRC open day in April, so I have ripped of half the scenery, that's the correct way to do this right? #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #trains #00gauge

Turns out I didn't take many before pictures, so this is probably the best one I have, I think it's quite the improvement.

10 days since 3D printing the new water tower for the layout the whole shed has had a refurbishment! Well the outside has anyway, the shed doors now open and close, although haven't been fitted properly yet, they'll go in once the floor is down. #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #00gauge #trains #3dPrinting

It's gotta be my brass turntable at the moment, it sits right in the middle of the layout, so is holding back a lot, but every time I look at it it looks far to daunting, it's been a while since I built a brass kit

The water tower has finished printing, along with some new steam vents for the shed roof, I am very happy with that, not bad for a couple of days CAD while off work sick #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #trains

Have had a couple of days off work sick, and have seemingly put them to good use CADing a new water tower for Oak Hill, based on the one that was attached to the shed at Three bridges, this will be attached to the shed on Oak Hill #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #trains #3Dprint #CAD

Bit more work on Oak Hill today, got a fence at the endge, and playing with the idea of some trees and sheep on the grass, also dug out the static grass, but not applied yet. #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #trains

Picked up some Hattons Genesis SE&CR coaches, other than the livery being too bright they are great! Going to change the lighting so the look more like ex-LCDR coaches as per their numbers, and gonna try to darken the livery with dyed varnish #BSMRGUK #modelRailway #trains

Well it's back to work tomorrow so layout work slows down, but I'm happy with what I've got done this week, they layout is starting to look great!

The ground cover has started, using locomotive ash, sieved so only the smallest bits have made it to the layout, in the period I'm modelling these areas would have had ash from the locomotives, more work will be needed to add dirt etc in heavy traffic areas #TMRGUK #BSMRGUK #modeRailway #trains

Yes, the layout is quite thin so the buildings wouldn't fit, I figured modelling them with interiors showing would be the best way, and it went so much better than I expected

Not every print goes as planned, time for this one to get resupported and try again, it's a 10 hour print, so no results on the second print until tomorrow, but with better support it should all print fine. #TMRGUK #BMRGUK #modelRailway #trains #3Dprinting

More work on the main lasyout, last night saw some CAD to create a 4mm version of the LBSC cattle pens at Kingscote on the Bluebell Railway, a first print has been done and some tweaks made, another print on now, doors work, and will make a nice posable detail #TMRGUK #BMRGUK #modelRailway #trains
