One ear, iffy eyes, dodgy knees. Basically harmless.
Yes, I heard this this morning and thought WTF. He seemed to have made a real effort to find something he could claim was misleading. If they'd done that between 2019 and 2014 they would have broadcast nothing else.

Indeed. In fact, could easily be my Dad heading to work circa 1976. Or indeed 1986. He liked his shorts and walk socks, short sleeved shirt and tie combo and stuck with it for close on 15 summers.

The Beatles Rain is pretty cool. Maybe not my favourite song about rain, plenty of excellent ones in replies already but still, well worth a mention. youtube.com/watch?v=cK5G...

I work with people based in New York. There anyone can get a covid booster for free. Differs by state I gather but still, the fact that in even some parts of America people can get this free but here it costs that much is very very odd.

Dr Hook, A little bit more. "When your body's had enough of me
And I'm layin' flat out on the floor
When you think I've loved you all I can
I'm gonna love you a little bit more"

That is despite having been saying "I'm almost 60" for the past three years. Makes no sense.

My birthday is at the end of June, so I tend to round up in the first half of the year and down for the second half. Except in years like next year when I will turn 59 when I expect that I will cling to the "fifty" part till the last minute.

I seem to recall Clive James saying something similar about Bertold Brecht. From memory: "I've got nothing against Brecht, in his place. Which is East Germany."

Very sad. Saw Shriekback twice in New Zeland in the 80s and twice in London in the early 90s. Brilliant band, driven by Dave Allen's amazing bass.

Years ago, I worked for a part of Pearson when they still owned Penguin. Somehow, I was ccd on an email from someone in Penguin's marketing team that simply said, "I've got the blads!!!". I replied "sorry to hear that." Never got a response.
