The B48 automated announcement voice no longer pronounces Meserole as "meserolly" but it does still pronounce Wythe as "with."

List of items I've seen people carrying on the subway and initially mistaken for a hockey stick because I'm usually carrying a hockey stick: tennis rackets, baseball bats, and, this morning, two of those very long levels used on construction sites.

I praise this day, which has brought me one of those increasingly infrequent little blessings: spotting a real life head-to-toe Thom Browne guy on the subway on his way to work.

last night during my hockey game, a couple of teammates had the knicks-pacers game playing on their phones on the bench, a goofy symphony of sneaker squeaking and ball bouncing and skate scraping and puck slapping.

Wasn't paying attention and very carefully shook three orange foam earplugs out of the little tub to put in before going to bed, as if I had that many ears.

In the same way that circa 2006, I had an ambient awareness of which of my friends paid to be able to send and receive text messages in case I needed to call instead, circa 2025, I have an awareness of who subscribes to what paywalled journalism so I can generate gift links when I send them stuff!
