My sister's neighbour took his dog, the snuggly black lab, and her dog Hazy, on the floor being a bit concerned about Santa, for a Christmas photo today.
As you do.

The dog has flogged my chair, and he's not moving.

Found on twitter. Natalie from Oamaru taking Luxon to the cleaners. That last sentence - oof.

I second the Silver Palate and I like Moosewood Restaurant Cooks At Home. It’s so well-loved at my place that we’re on our second copy because the first one fell apart.

Very wrong. Detlef Gronenborn's description is pretty chilling.

Things may be fucked up and stupid, but I just saw a bat-eared fox drinking on the live stream of the Namib desert watering hole. I didn't know such a creature existed and had to do a hasty bit of research. Exciting!

I know. Banning them would be so easy, but we don't.

Dog snuggles are excellent. Here's Pip at his cuddly best.

This arrived in the mail today. I'm trying to resist the temptation to read it all in one gulp.

Today has been a day.
The steady flow of stories about men behaving appallingly and other men/institutions minimising, or denying, or actively covering for them make me ragey and sad.

Here's an iris from a neglected corner of my yard as a wee antidote.

Back yard tē kouka. (There should be a macron above the o, but my phone doesn't have one for some reason.)

I'm old enough to remember when Todd Muller had to hastily make excuses when we learned he had a red MAGA hat in his office because owning such a thing was a bit shameful and weird.
Today though, we have this headline on the RNZ ticker. Things have changed.

Gordon Campbell with some upsetting home truths.
Is he right? Are we stuck with Luxon?
Does the persistent tightness of the polling suggest National will win again next year?

Oh no. Crappy work email on a Friday night is not great.

I've been moaning here this arvo so here's my cousin's gorgeously floofy dog to make up for it.
I love her.

The language Peters used is highly inflammatory, and pretty rich coming from a man whose attacks on Benjamin Doyle launched a wave of threats so serious that Doyle felt they had to leave parliament altogether for the safety of their family.

Carrie Leonetti, an associate law professor at Auckland uni gets to the heart of it when she says, "It's like men's potential suffering is tragic, and women's actual suffering is just our lot in life."

We’re friends with both is mealy-mouthed nonsense - if you’re not standing against genocide or recognising that the Palestinian people have the right to live where they live in safety and freedom, you’re no friend of Palestine.
