4/5 FAIR PAY AGREEMENTS will ensure higher wages and better standards for workers in low- paying industries. AUTOMATIC UNION MEMBERSHIP will give workers and their unions more power in the workplace. CLARIFYING CONTRACTOR LAW will protect workers’ basic rights within the gig economy.

3/5 The NZCTU Te Kauae Kaimahi is asking any future progressive government to reinstate Fair Pay Agreements, make it easier for people to join their union, and clarify contractor law to protect workers: all within THEIR FIRST 100 DAYS.

2/5 Over the past 35 years, attacks on workers and their unions have left many New Zealanders working longer hours on lower pay and with less agency. Aotearoa was once at the forefront of worker rights, but now we don’t even meet some of the most basic global labour rights principles.
