What's going on with gene nomenclature between human and pre-clinical models (e.g., mice) why do we have to change gene nomenclature but we don't do it with proteins/enzymes? It seems like if you're going to use a different way of writing/communicating genes - you'd use that same rule for proteins.

I have been a big proponent of 15 minutes of writing per day- especially for busy clinical academicians

as laid out in the book "How to write a lot" (a great and quick read)

We suffer from the idea that we need chunks of time to write
