Provost of SUNY Potsdam, Parasitologist, Board gamer. Believer that the world works better when we invite different voices to the conversations that we need to have - and incorporate data to make empirical, just, and inclusive decisions.
First session of “Hacking College” by Ned Laff and @carlsonics.bsky.social book group yesterday with new academic advisors at SUNY Potsdam. So much excitement about implementing ideas into our model of student support.

Day 20 of #BlackVinyl is “Still + Bright,” the latest from Amethyst Kiah, released October 2024. This Tennessee artist is also hard to classify into just one genre, but if you like folk, blues, alt country stuff, she’s a definite must-listen.

Day 19 of #BlackVinyl is the 2008 debut and self-titled album from Santigold (you may see “Santogold” but for legal reasons, she changed it). This one cannot be put into one genre box, but definitely worth a listen!

Day 14 of #BlackVinyl is something very different: Herbie Hancock’s 11th album “Sextant” from 1973. It’s just three long tracks, full of experimental “avant-funk” sound.

Omg day 13 of #BlackVinyl - sorry it is late but bear with me - is @barteesstrange.bsky.social new one “Horror” just out last week, his third record. I am such a giant fan of Bartees - he does it all - and just got to see him in the very intimate venue of Bowery Ballroom tonight. 🖤❤️💚
