The many moods of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. America's greatest wilderness.

Got back up here for the first time in 6 years, once again getting outfitted by Voyageur Canoe Outfitters. Minnesota at its best.

OK. Well, I got to editing some of my month plus backlog of non-work photos. Anyways, aren't these pink and tan stone and brick buildings in Old Salem, Winston-Salem, North Carolina awesome.

These compost bins in Boston are adorable.

But also they’re just the appropriate size.

I love that Midlake has continued the tradition of bands replacing their eccentric lead signer with one of the other guys in the band. All three of their post-Tim Smith albums have been stellar.

Funny that the MSP locations of Republic and Bottle Rocket outlived the original locations.

Wow. Can't say much else. The overhead corona was unbelievable. The most intense reds and greens. ❤️💚😍💃 She'll be dancing until sunrise.

I visited Franconia Sculpture Park over summer and it has been on my aurora photo bucket list ever since. That's where I went last night.

Adding a plank to my mayoral bid: “If elected, I will institute a new, distinct AWOOOOOO to alert the Minneapolis public that the northern lights are viewable & commence a strategic, public-safety-vetted 2-minute shutdown of all streetlights.”

The Northern Lights plainly visible to the naked eye in the Lyndale neighborhood Minneapolis. Never thought I’d actually “see” them.

I’m not sure if it was the Loons game, the state girls volleyball championship or the Jens Lekman show, but Cosetta’s and West 7th were insanely busy tonight. This whole Twin Cities deal is pretty good.

I’ll have a ton of photos to share with you folks once I get through this run of shoots. But for now here are some photos of the Praire School Purcell-Cutts House from a number of years ago. A Minneapolis architectural gem.

one of the worst aspects of sports fandom is dealing with certain male fans after a loss

there’s this bizarre and wholly online subculture of men who ostensibly love their teams, but their primary relationship to said team is expressed exclusively through a funnel of their depression

Quietly one of the best blocks to get something incredible to eat between the Twin Cities and Green Bay. Wausau’s Hmong Eggroll and Taqueria El Zabas rule.

My brother and I met up in Green Bay for the Packers game tomorrow. Spent 3+ hours at a supper club up the shore and debated about the origins of tavern-style pizza for a good half hour of that.

Using fencing to curb homelessness in the Twin Cities is an insult - MinnPost
Agencies and governments turn to fencing instead of actual solutions for problems related to people experiencing homelessness.
