Of all the placed I worked there was only 1 with an actual QA department (one of the largest telcos in the country).

And the attitude towards testing and QA has always baffled me. If devs aren't in the business of writing good code they should change career.

My favourite part of QA was when I worked at a dev at place where they decided to send all devs to a course on software testing, with an actual exam at the end.

Then management found out how many-hours were needed to actually implement testing and shot it down calling it "too expensive".
