Her end finally came when she forgot how to swallow. I wouldn't have let a dog suffer in this way and would have agreed readily to 'let her go'. However, I do have serious concerns that 'assisted dying' could be abused once it has become an accepted process. 3/3

There were some happier times for her, mainly thanks to a wonderful care home assistant who would cuddle her while they watched an Andre Rieu video (I still shudder when I see him mentioned). 2/3

My mother died of Alzheimer's. During her last few years she thought that we were married and that my wife (her DIL of 30+ years) was 'the other woman'. This led to situations which were embarrassing or incredibly distressing (for both her and us). 1/3

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that there is fox hunting with packs of dogs on MOD land? I thought that such hunting was illegal in the UK .

Thankfully it's not necessarily a binary choice. You can become emotionally attached to an old and worn hard copy but you can carry a library with you on a Kindle. I have the George Smiley novels in both forms so they're always with me.
