Btw, I love how some of the new spells in that book have a special circle casting feature where they gain a special versions for higher requirement circle casting. I hope they release more of those for other spells in the future or someone homebrews good ones for existing spells. It's really neat

Yeah, I'd make them all require to burn a slot of the same level+have the spells available on the class list to join in. Like I said, I really love the option, but anyone being able to do it at (mostly) no cost is too easy for my liking, knowing how me and my players can already go ham with spells

Ah, my bad! Not having to spend a spell slot is a general rule, though, pretty sure? For options that don't specify otherwise. Which I've an issue with in those cases too. Also can't check right now, but it doesn't specify what level of spell slot they have to burn?

Like, it's not gamebreaking, I agree, but it's too powerful without any downsides whatsoever, considering it's rare to have a party w/o at least two PCs who have some sort of spellcasting ability.

That's the thing, it doesn't cost any additional spell slots. The additional casters don't have to invest anything, except their action, which isn't much of an issue, considering most of circle casting will be performed outside of combat. Burning a spell slot's also a thing we're thinking of adding.

My table's thinking of disallowing to join spells that are not even on your class spell list and not of your casting level at the very least.

Like, pre-buffing everyone for the cost of literally nothing when you enter the dungeon, bc now bless, haste etc last for 1 h with only 1 additional caster, no matter if they even have the potential to cast those spells themselves. That's a bit too easy.

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous, never going to happen. Also everyone just ignores line of sight and having a clear path for the spell in their ridiculous theorycrafting. My concern isn't that kind of silly stuff, but smaller very potent things that will actually be used to great effect.

Honestly, I do see A LOT of potential for abuse, like an ungodly amount of potential. But it's also a really awesome option that I love to see introduced and I'll definitely be implementing it. But with some fixes and not at blanket availability, I think.

Yep, the revised ending's really much better. It's a pretty impressive example how small the difference is between a story that works vs one that feels off.
