My only objection is that Trump’s DOJ, either accidentally or on purpose, is going to fuck up and contaminate what might otherwise be winnable cases.

I wish I had more confidence that the Spanberger administration was prepared to clean house, rather than just making a few high profile moves and papering over the rest of the rot.

My article for the 51st on the new owners of the Chateau Lounge on Benning Rd NE known for its Friday night hand dancing and its go-go shows on other nights
A new life for D.C.'s iconic Chateau Lounge
New owners of the old hand dancing spot want to preserve what made it so beloved. But they also want the nightclub to become a community hub.

It doesn’t feel great that even if Hillary had beaten Trump we might still be having the same conversations about whether the President had Jeffrey Epstein killed to cover up their complicity in a child sex trafficking ring.*

I see sustained political instability until one party spends a New Deal-level of money. That will solidify things one way or another. But very differently.
Sir, what do you feel will be the end result of all this calamity? Do you think that the country will return to a semblance of normalcy after this is over or will it further plunge until the US is a state of total anarchy?

I’m sure he’s a fine attorney, but could they really not find someone without “scandal” in their name?
BREAKING: Pete Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, has appointed himself to prosecute the case against Trump and others in Fulton County.

The move follows a court ruling that disqualified Fani Willis from pursuing the case.

It would represent a massive rupture in our judicial system, but I still think that courts have to reject these settlements on the grounds that they are essentially self-dealing. The Trump DOJ is no longer an adverse party in these cases.
NEW: DOJ has been in settlement talks with Michael Flynn -- Trump's first national security adviser seeking $50M for his prosecution by ex-special counsel Robert Mueller -- and Stefan Passantino, a Trump I White House lawyer who accused the House Jan. 6 committee of privacy violations

Former UVA president Jim Ryan, who resigned over the summer due to pressure from the Trump Administration, just shared this 12-page letter with the Faculty Senate, detailing his experience with the Board of Visitors and DOJ.

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.

Question for lawsky folks. Say you were writing an article and you wanted to include a discussion of the jurisprudential strand/era of cases like Lopez and Morrison. Is there any snappy way to refer to that era? Analogous to like, we use "Child Labor Federalism" for Dagenhart/Drexel
