8. With the increase in militarization--the US supplying Israel with weapons to bomb Gaza, deployment of military into US cities--it feels very much like societal upheaval, and perhaps fashion is taking a cue, tapping into a collective militarization, with aesthetics reflecting these changes.

Japan's govt should bear the costs because keeping US military bases predominantly in Okinawa is precisely what has led to higher rates of PFAS contamination. Okinawans should not also bear the burden of PFAS cleanup costs and the burden of bases.

The highest source of PFAS in Okinawa is US military, which is occupying Okinawa after Japan "sold" Okinawa in the San Francisco Peace Treaty. The US-JP dual colonialism of Okinawa enables PFAS contamination.

Btw the same is true of PFAS levels near bases in US
