I'm a long time practicing attorney in coastal Oregon town. Too many people don't understand how government works. We need to require schools to return to teaching civics in school.
Fox News and MAGA tried to make fun of the October 18th protests claiming it was just a bunch of "angry old white people" as if they were nothing to worry about. I don't know if they checked the demographics lately but" angry old white people" vote!

Newport, Oregon, had over 2600 protesters in a town of 10,000 people. The entire population of Lincoln County in which Newport sits, is 40,000 people. Over 4,000 people in Lincoln County Oregon appeared at the protests today. That's a 10% participation rate for Lincoln County and 25% for Newport.

I've been asked why I am showing up to the protest on October 18th. Some say it won't do any good. The answer is Hope. Hope that maybe... just maybe if enough people show up others will wonder why so many people are protesting. And maybe, enough people will look into it enough to realize that

Hang tough, Texas. Your Governor is trying to intimidate you into surrendering your constitutional right of free speech by threatening to send in troops to go after protesters on October 18th. Be a patriot, defend your right to free speech. Don't cow a bully.

The Portland debacle demonstrates just how feeble-minded Trump is. I suspect that there is people like Steven Miller whispering in his ear lies about what's going on in Portland. Even Trump conceded it might be different than what some say on TV. He getting his intelligence from fucking TV?!!

The Democratic leadership has been ineffective at taking a stand against Trump. They cannot cave on the government shutdown. If the Republicans are going to shut the government down if they don't get what they want, so be it. Now is the time to take a stand !!

In case you haven't heard, Trump quietly lifted sanctions against Belarus for airline parts and services. Under current sanctions, Russia cannot get them. If Belarus obtains these parts and services, you can be certain they will be sent directly to Russia, thus avoiding sanctions Trump is a traitor.

Release the Homan video now. The FBI has video of Tom Holman, the " Immigration Czar" taking a $50,000 bribe from an FBI agent to secure government contracts. Don't let them get away with it. Keep pushing for release of the Homan and files now !!

I see certain affiliates have refused to air Jimmy Kimmel's comeback tonight. Many threatened to boycott those affiliates but that is not enough. You must also boycott any business that advertises on that affiliate. That will make it much more effective. Please repost and spread the word.

Nexstar and the Sinclair group have refused to put Jimmy Kimmel back on the air. A list of television stations owned by Nexstar and Sinclair group is available online. Please check them out and boycott these stations and their advertisers. Contact the advertisers and let them know why.

The problem with AI is with the people who control it. For example, OpenAI quietly changed the program to no longer generate satirical images of political figures. They quietly changed this rule internally at OpenAI. Doesn't look that "open" to me. This is more suppression of free speech.
