Yeah probably; me personally, I try not to think too much bout the Algo. But I think some of it is just subconscious conservation of 'resources', courtesy of the ape brain. Like, as if we only have 3 likes to give per day, so we need to be frugal with them.

Yet people do seem surprisingly reluctant to give it. Like somewhere there's a universe where likes cost money and they still probably would be about as plentiful

That's sort of my feeling too, yeah. Not sure if I'd bother splitting my bluesky as it's already full of my personal opinions (I mean, how dare I)—but at the very least, I'm thinking a separate Itch page.
