V. annoying thing about oralist/eugenicist arguments in deaf ed is how the counter is reduced to amorphous cultural protectivism, which, OK culture is great, but also your way doesn't work! 80% of US deaf kids have CIs and 70% of US d/hh experience language deprivation. Math ain't mathin' babes!

A fun thing about religious trauma is my kids spun a wheel to answer an xmas trivia question (and win candy) at a booth hosted by a church yesterday, and then I had a 5 hour nightmare about youth group last night 😂🫠
