please be civil; I will.
would be good to have a transparency requirement for 311 that closing a 311 ticket includes a closing agency record number or a photo or video showing the absence of the complained condition.

Drivers licenses put 50-100x that kinetic energy in the hands of people who face minimal licensing and training requirements compared to the risks. I can easily get going >20mph on a road bike, which is more kinetic energy than an e bike at 15.

Kinetic energy is proportional to weight and the square of speed. Heavier things should go slower for shorter stopping distances. Practically, a 20mph truck limit means they'll go with traffic but get photo tickets at 31 rather than 36.

I agree with all your points and referred to your comment in my own.

i've added some comments as well regarding how stupid the kinetic energy calculations are for this and a possible violation of EPCA.

If you're comfortable being in a bar and having non alcoholic drinks then just go and order what you want. No one is obligated to drink alcohol in a bar. Telling them in advance is more awkward and making a big deal about it. In that case just plan to meet somewhere other than a bar.

If only there were a city agency tasked with designing and managing curb space that could also be tasked with civil enforcement of the regulations it designs...

Ok. So that part's pretty good. If I get a 10 minute wait on the B54 and it turns in 12:00 mile splits I might as well walk. Or I kick its butt jogging at 8:30/mi. I want a shared metal box that I pay money for and burns dinosaurs to be a lot faster than I am.
