The NYC mayor is proposing a ridiculous rule for e-bikes that's 1. not legal, 2. doesn't make people safer, 3. misses the point on kinetic energy, 4. exacerbates a problem in the City with inconsistent and politicized enforcement (think double parking and placards instead of market pricing curbs)

The official text for NYC's proposed 15mph citywide speed limit on "pedal-assist commercial bicycle" is now posted.

📝 Comments open until July 14th.

I believe this rule making to be plainly illegal under NY VTL §1642 (26).

This is my dog, quite enthusiastically eating her breakfast but only after staring at it and squeaking until I grated parmesan over top of it.

You know what, let’s see exactly who the most corrupt unethical politicians in NYC are. Those are the ones willing to endorse Cuomo. It’s a great list for after this mayoral election.

You’re either on the government payroll or you’re not: If you are, it’s public record. If you’re not, you probably shouldn’t be breaking into classified document storage facilities and putting government employees on leave.

Based on a quick analysis of EIA gas and electric pricing data at the state level about 92% of the US pop. could heat more cost effectively with heat pumps at 47F and 48% at 17F comparing typical equipment efficiencies at those temps. HP tends to be even more cost effective in red states! #sparkgap
