Despite the dissemination grant from DOST and given my current financial status, I am unable to fully finance this trip, hence this crowd funding initiative. I am therefore asking for your help to allow me to present our study to the world. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

I have also reached out to CHED for their program Support for Paper Presentation in International Conference, though I was informed that the program is currently suspended.

I have applied for the travel grant from the conference organizers, but they prioritized individuals who are at the advanced stage of their PhD. I also could not avail of financial support from the UP Office of International Linkages since rhe application cycle has already lapsed.

I have tried and applied for travel grants to help partially defray the cost, and currently I am in the process of getting the requirements for the DOST ASTHRDP Dissemination Grant (PhP 75,000/ ~ $1,311) as part of my scholarship privileges.

I hope to present our findings to this international conference, representing the Philippines at an international stage. The overall financial need is expected to be around $4000 (around 200, 000 pesos) for the flight, accommodation, and registration for this conference in August 2025.

The World Congress of Malacology is the largest gathering of malacologists (people studying mollusks) and happens only once every three years. This time, it will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This study examined the phylogenetic relationships of Philippine Cyclophoridae against its Southeast Asian neighbors and distant relatives utilizing both museum specimens from various institutions, and fieldwork from various sites in the Philippines

The study is entitled “Shell Games: Multi-Locus Phylogeny of Philippine Cyclophoridae (Gastropoda: Caenogastropoda) Uncovers Species for Taxonomic Re-evaluation”.

A chapter of my thesis regarding The Molecular Phylogenetics of Philippine Cyclophoridae, a family of land snails that can be found in the Philippines, was accepted for Oral Presentation at the 22nd World Congress of Malacology in São Paulo, Brazil.
