3 mile walk around the village this morning, Moorland, seen, rather than the usual heard, Cetti’s Warbler also Kingfisher, several Willow Warblers and a Crane fest, group of 21 and 4, together with a couple of pairs

Went out to the local moors near where l live this morning, temperature positively tropical compared to recent days, scanning the swans for Bewick/Whoopers, nothing ! The only unusual were a couple of Egyptian Geese

Literally within 15 mins of arriving at Greylake, f Merlin, f Marsh Harrier, Barn Owl, M Hen Harrier and 2 Cranes. I’m off to have a lie down 😬

This morning, 2 then eventually 3 white fronts at Sharpham, Wookey Hole, Dipper, Green Ore, no T sparrows ☹️ but my learned colleague found us a Firecrest, some food at Catcott, no G W Teal, then home, fingers absolutely frozen

Birding highlights today; Lesser spotted woodpecker heard & seen on the Quantocks this morning twice, together with reasonable views of the Least Sandpiper at Otterhampton Marsh. Also approximately 65 Brent Geese at H Point and a large flock of Turnstone, again about 65 off Stolford
