Advent starts this Sunday, 30th November. Our Advent theme this year is The Peace that Transforms. During our Advent services we will be taking inspiration from the work of Richard Rohr and considering the transformative power of love, joy, hope and peace.
Everyone is welcome at any or all of our services. Please get in touch with us by DM if you have any questions or any access needs you would like to discuss in advance. Sunday 30th November. 6.30pm Advent 1. Hope: the peace begins within. Worship Service with open communion table followed by refreshments. In the Church building and on YouTube Monday 1st December. 7pm World AIDS Day Prayer Service. A service to mark World AIDS Day, to remember those we have lost and the ongoing work for treatments and justice for all affected by HIV/AIDS. Refreshments from 6.30pm. In the Church building. Sunday 7th December. 6.30pm Advent 2. Peace: the peace that disrupts. Worship Service with open communion table followed by refreshments. In the Church building and on YouTube Sunday 14th December. 6.30pm Advent 3. Joy: the peace that frees. Worship Service with open communion table followed by refreshments. This will be in the Church Hall at St James's and not online (the hall entrance is halfway down the left side of the church if you are standing looking at the main door). Tuesday 16th December. 7pm Blue Christmas Service. A quiet reflective service to acknowledge that Christmas can be a hard time of year.
