Just so everyone understands how shady this is. Santos has been resisting information from dozens of community orgs about how essential it is to fund Community Connections, been talking about compromise. Suddenly a walk-on from our downtown homeless removal service to take over and she’s all ears 🧵

Can someone explain why it's preferred to move to non-centralized servers? Part of why I never got into Mastodon is because of how unwilieldy it is to non-tech person like me.
To me, the part I like about twitter is that I can have my followers, but still be connected to something bigger.
