Yeah I think SW has a tendency for audience stand-ins as MCs. Han, Vader, Leia, etc. were more interesting than Luke. Obi Wan, Palpatine, Padme were more interesting than anakin. Kylo was the only character allowed to be interesting in the sequels.

Yeah abolish the police, etc. did a number on the progressive movement bc of the covid crime wave. Also looking at progressive bastions like SF and their housing/crime issues doesn’t help.
