The long explanation matters. I was in GDR and Czechoslovakia in ‘89 as a teenager and for very little time. The heaviness of the surveillance and restrictions was omnipresent and incredibly in your face even then, and this was towards the end. We are not there. We need to act to keep it that way.

CA legislators vote today on SB/AB 144 which would remove all references to ACIP from state law + replace with recs from physician-led prof orgs that rely on science. This law would give teeth to the West Coast Health Alliance by requiring that insurers offer shots based on evidence-based guidance
