Same camping issue. I reduce this feeling at least for the aranet, by just always leaving it in one of my blazer open pocket, and just check my watch. No more fumbling with it.

But I actually only use the aranet because I plug it into my apple watch and put the aranet in my go bag, so I can read it from my watch at home and outisde.
