SO STOKED to get my copy of F(r)iction’s FAIRYTALES issue!

This is SPLENDID. 🔥✨

I especially love Gene Luen Yang’s retelling in American Born Chinese, which parallels Sun Wukong not being allowed in the heavenly banquet to an Asian American not being allowed certain opportunities.

It truly added another layer (& real life application) to why Sun Wukong learned to shapeshift.

I showed my roommate Casper (1995) for the first time this morning, and was not expecting/had totally forgotten the Frankenstein reference in it. They also don’t use lightning but a potion/mysterious chemical compound just like in OG Frankenstein—which Casper calls “instant primordial soup mix” 😂

Paperback book ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL: A Collection of Wicked Tales by Vivian Kasley. In the vein of fear of dolls, there was this short film I saw as a kid, Alma. I watched it at 2am on YouTube and kept pausing bc I kept dreading. But I couldn’t sleep w/o closure. So I mustered up the courage to finish watching and the scare actually went by quick. The dread was worse. Dolls, man.
