It’s an okay tune, nothing special, but it’s drenched in LMEA and NOCB history. Looking forward to playing it Sunday at 1pm at the Recital Hall of UNO’s Performing Arts Center. Free admission, please bring a canned food donation for local food banks.

Next reveal for our 50th annual holiday concert, selections from Leonard Bernstein’s tour de force, Mass. Premiered in 1971 at the Kennedy Center, the medley of songs springs from Bernstein’s interpretation of the Tridentine Mass of the Catholic Church.

The story goes Arthur Fiedler asked Anderson to come up with something for the Boston Pops Christmas album in 1950.

Louis Moreau Gottschalk was a world famous pianist and composer in the 1800’s, born right here in New Orleans. We’re playing a new arrangement of Souveniers de Puerto Rico, which he wrote after a trip to the island.
