The Irish Hip Fracture Database National Report 2024 is now available, covering 4,294 patients across 16 hospitals.

Timely admission has improved again: 36% reached a ward or theatre within four hours from ED, a seven-point rise on last year.

National Audit of Hospital Mortality National Report 2022–2023. The report shows progress in reducing in-hospital deaths for heart attack, stroke, and pneumonia, while COPD rates have stabilised. For the first time, inequalities in hospital outcomes were also explored. www.noca.ie/documents/na...

Professor Conor Deasy has launched the Major Trauma Audit National Report 2022.

Key Findings:
- 61% of cases from low falls (<2m), half in the home
- Avg age: 62
- 41% required surgery, mostly limb
- 58% discharged home, 6% mortality
