The fact that the voices of young children have been used in horror media as a form to create unsettling eeriness for ages, I think it’s completely understandable to be suspicious in the voice of young children.

Even if only one person sees my stuff then I’m good.

Absolutely. I also love seeing different versions of things. How different creators, be that a singular vision or a whole studio reinterprets a story.

After this season I'm definitely going to be reading the manga, and then looking forward to expecting how they adapt it!

But this is coming from me experiencing the story for the first time through the anime, I'm sure my opinion would be different if I read the manga first.
A majority of the changes they've made are either for keeping scenes cinematically consistent and adding fidelity to the action.

For sure, I agree that one manga panel of her jump is visually more impactful. But considering the rush of everything before it, the uncertainty of whats happening adds to the sudden impact. The streaking lights represent the fall, I enjoyed that subtlety. If I didn't know she'd jump, man...

I think the anime's change in the framing and tone of her backstory was for the better. It felt better built up to, more cinematic and not so visually explicit, allowing the visuals to be more expressive.

However, I do think the change in her look when she first sees Aira was unnecessary.
