Uhhhhhhhhhh, I think we had a vastly different experience. Armor and shields were fantastic in Elden Ring? Just don't use the soreseal unless your build is made to use it because it nukes your defenses.

Medium armor, medium shield, and 35 vigor and you're a tank.

I loved Elden Ring because I could think my way around problems, prepare better, and ultimately win. As I learned more, the game eventually was just relaxing and easy. That's definitely my preferred difficulty slider, and I think it was in Dark Souls as well!
