Most of my romance reading this year were re-visits of favorites — everything by Courtney Milan. Duchess War would be my answer.

I haven‘t read Heated Rivals. Thanks for the recommendation. Excited to add it to my list. My near call was with KJ Charles’s A Gentleman’s Position.

Chuckling over here. I’ve had some close calls with romance audiobooks restarting when I turn on my car.

But when the “bad” police officers beat up people, the “not bad” ones do and say … nothing. That’s the issue. As a collective, they are a problem. And there’s very little to no way to hold them accountable for the terrible things they do. Just like ICE.

This is specific to NY but is an excellent and well researched overview on how police originates and typically functions.

It’s from Kenneth Mejia, the city controller of LA. it’s a graph from the official website of the city of LA and not a random place. Would have added the link but the site kept crashing on my phone.

I recently moved to a neighborhood that’s helping me understand why some people like cops— they come to their schools and share goodies, hold community events etc. But that DOESN’T apply everywhere. In poorer/minority areas, police are a menace (similar to ICE) and regularly harrass random people.

the main point of defund is that the police do have enough money — too much In fact. Imagine how much crime would be reduced if half this budget was used on youth centers, recreational spaces, libraries, parks, shelters etc etc etc.

I wrote you ASSUME she’s incompetent. Not that you said it. If you saw her as competent (which encompases knowing about saline washes) then why would you have posted that response telling her what to try?

You are not going to waste my time today so this is the only reply you will get:
1) please go and read your response to Dr. Cottom again. It was directed AT her not a general public.
2) If you want to teach people, that's your business but do it on your page not as a reply to her with instructions.

It is abundantly clear from Dr. Cottom‘s post that she knows all about allergies and what works for her. You see your reply as helpful to her because you assume she’s incompetent. Giving unsolicited advice isn’t being helpful. Rather (to paraphrase Dr. Cottom) it’s how people enact social dominance.
