And honestly whether it is the US, UK, Australia or Canada all of these places are expensive to live in and the average household has working underpaid and underemployed people. I do think this is a point of radicalization because a lot of angry, angry normal people were ready to dig in and suffer a lot in order to make fascists suffer a little, and their resolution was sold out and made into a mockery

The shoes part, specifically, it's bullshit. $65 shoes nowadays are made from plastic and foam. And any job where you are on your feet a significant amount of the time (ie most working-class jobs!) will destroy them in months.
