The general misbelief is that the most unhinged, dark, twisted, freak dead-dove content is liked by genuinely dangerous freaks one should stay away from, but from my experience the biggest fans of the dark and deviant are always genuinely the friendliest and kindest "Hi ^____^ 🩷" level of people.

I know nothing of sumo but Aonishiki Arata's victory crossed my social media and I have been absolutely delighted by Aonishiki's story. A refugee from Ukraine, he arrived to Japan at age 19, learned fluent Japanese in 3 years and is making sumo history with his fast promotion pace and wins.

We always have a real Christmas tree. This year's tree has a weird smell. We pondered if the tree's spirit (kuusenhaltija) was disrespected somehow. We gave the haltija some booze and food, explained what's going on and apologized if it has been disrespected. Let's see if this helps!

I sent new pics of my acne face to a doctor and they changed my appointment to a new doctor and now I'm scared this isn't acne but something else and they have transferred me to a doctor who knows about skin conditions 🙃

Discussion is wonderful but not necessary (typically leads to more ideas to draw/write and even to friendships), debate I don't need at all regarding my work, a nice compliment is always a solid winner (which can lead to discussion and to its benefits for us both).
I’ve sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking that complementing a creative person for their work is less sophisticated or desired than discussion or debate about it but very often the best thing you can say to them is hell yeah and that doesn’t make you dumb it just makes you nice

If you tell people you like the art they make, you will eventually reach the creative people who screencap compliments and save them in a special folder to read through when times are hard. I have 5MB of one individual being rad about my writing. They have their own FOLDER. Be that person.
It rocks to tell people their shit rocks. Every single person who has ever been nice about my work has been appreciated for doing so. I take time to say I love stuff and it’s always the right time to remind somebody you value their work! You don’t need to get into detail either. Just say it rocks

Last dentist visit for this year and the total of 2025 is three cracked teeth, three fallen fillings, one emergency medical filling to prevent a root canal and six cavities. Now all teeth are fixed but I need to start saving for new fixes in 2026 because IT WILL HAPPEN. #yayforshittygenes
