3. Final assembly of GC retail packages occurs in Japan, making them subject to a 15% tariff when imported into the US.

Although GKC is also subject to the same tax, its lower unit cost offers a cushion for publishers to absorb the tariff.

2. AFAIK, there are 3 GC suppliers for NS1 (Rohm, Macronix/MegaChips, and an unidentified company), but for NS2 GC there are only 2 (Rohm and the unidentified company) due to Macronix’s technical difficulties: bsky.app/profile/did:...

The reduced production capacity may affect the GC2 supply.

• SanDisk, Samsung, and SK Hynix all reported that the demand for NAND is exceeding supply, even after production expansion
• Samsung and SanDisk are recently rumored to raise NAND prices by 10%-50%

• Elevated level of raw materials, likely anticipating sustained NS2 demands and mitigating component price fluctuations (e.g., rising memory costs)

Looks like Furukawa is backing up his promise of supply readiness: bsky.app/profile/ninp...

Good to know. Thanks for testing!

If the game sales were as soft as Mochizuki made it out to be, how come Nintendo revised UP the forecasts for both the NS2 and NS1 software sales?

Yeah. I think it’d be weird to support LC3 on Pro Controller 2 only, therefore would like to test some headsets to be sure. Nintendo is known for doing weird things sometimes though.

Last time I tested it, my headsets connected to Switch 2 using the AAC codec. AAC’s audio quality in theory is slightly above LC3’s, but I’m not sure how perceptible it is.

Older headsets that don’t support AAC probably fall back to the SBC codec, which is of worse quality than LC3.

I’m still traveling this week and thus unable to test this myself. Does anyone here own an LE Audio headset and want to give it a go? (It’s possible that Nintendo *only* allows LE Audio on Pro Controller 2, but that’d be weird.)

My previous test: ninpatentswatch.wordpress.com/2025/08/27/l...

LE Audio
Testing reveals Switch 2 Bluetooth audio doesn’t yet support LE Audio’s low-latency LC3 codec—Sony WH-1000XM6 and Creative Zen Air Pro default to AAC, and even Pro Controller’s headphone jack shows…

Not counting BotW, Nintendo published 12 Wii U-to-Switch ports btw 2017-2025, ranging from heavyweights (e.g., MK8) to niche titles (e.g., Tokyo Mirage Sessions).

I suspect that the NS1-to-NS2 game upgrades may be managed similarly, and the Xenoblade series is likely to get its due.

Obviously I’m not saying that Nintendo won’t acquire more companies, just that acquisitions (and building expansion, DeNA joint venture, etc.) were given as examples. This isn’t a business roadmap.

Yeah, most likely FromSoftware will have to self-publish or seek another publisher for The Duskbloods PC. It’s why I suspect that the Switch 2 exclusivity period may be a long one.
November 6, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Does this mean that there won’t be a Duskbloods PC version for quite a while (or ever)? Monster Hunter Rise was published by Capcom, and the Switch exclusivity lasted less than 10 months.
