@jheil.bsky.social unless you for the marvelous episode about Ben Kwellet. I’m 72 years old so he was off my musical radar, but no more! I’ve been binging on Ben’s music all weekend.

I just cancelled my membership. They are useless.
25 years ago I worked with some excellent policy advocates on predatory lending issues at AARP. I am afraid over time they've focused more & more on co-branding insurance & other products with corporations that they've become less & less an advocacy org.

More of a "lifestyle" organization nowadays
One thing I am puzzled about is AARP’s weak response to this. In addition to your reps, I’d suggest registering your displeasure with AARP. They have the capacity to mobilize millions of older adults to prevent this. It’s why they’re there! www.aarp.org/social-secur...

Watching Moroccans brew tea, I tried aerating water in my pour-over coffee. Basically hold the kettle high and let the water stream hit the grounds. They will bubble a bit. I don’t know why but the difference in taste is remarkable! Smoother, more flavorful, less acidic, coffee.

I don't care what y'all think of Steve Schmidt. He's passionate and eloquent here about the ass kissing and knee bending as toady owners of corporate media capitulate to Trump right now. Please share this: steveschmidt.substack.com/p/winter-com...
Winter comes to American newsrooms
Last night, I debated at the Oxford Union, the 201-year-old debating society, and one of the world’s preeminent free speech forums.
