That isn’t an accurate translation. The verb for being pierced ( here better translated as slain) is unambiguously plural. It can’t refer to Jesus, even if he had fulfilled the prophecies.

Said in Hosea 6:6 and reiterated in Matthew 9:13. This is where many right-wingers falter. Like the Pharisees, they refuse to advance beyond Mosaic Law.

Some say: Due to the danger that one might accidentally cut his hand, and some say: Due to the fact that it could ruin the meal, as even if one only cut himself slightly, that small amount of blood could still spoil the meat and render it repulsive to eat.

The Salt Lake Tribune SB334 specifies the texts for those classes should draw largely from Western civilization - particularly ancient Israel, Greece and Rome - and books about the rise of Christianity. The bill lists the authors that should be included: Homer, Plato and Aristotle from ancient Greece, Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, Roman leaders Cicero and Boethius, Rabbi Maimonides, William Shakespeare, English philosopher John Stuart Mill, author Virginia Woolf and Nigerian poet Chinua Achebe. Woolf is the only woman listed, and Achebe the only Black writer.

I asked a Christian friend who reads a lot of romances about Oke and her audience. She says:
Who reads her? The short version-and I'm not being glib or dismissive at all—is MAGA. Your typical Trump voter: Evangelical Christian. Dominionist. Remember how I said I have strong feelings? Oke has been around for at least 30 years. Closer to 40. Her breakout book-Love Comes Softly-was a Christian forced proximity / marriage of convenience story set in the years familiar to fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder. She parlayed that into a multigenerational saga that has spawned something like half a dozen hallmark movies. So she's got a pile of money and an ocean of adoring fans. But they're ALL (or most) MAGA types But they're ALL (or most) MAGA types so her books don't have to have any real research. In fact the more verisimilitude they would have the more readers she would lose. Everything she writes is kind of a wattpad level of cartoon of the time period she writes in. Which is a whole lot of their appeal. It also explains, if you think on it, a whole lot of MAGA because the past they imagine has all the sharp edges blunted, as in the LIW Little House books and the Oke books. (Also Francine Rivers, another big favourite.) I pointed out after reading _Love Comes Softly_ all the myriad incongruities (I was 16) and my mother actually said "Kathy, let a story be a story." So these hundreds of thousands of (mostly) women read her and think they've really learned about the West or about Canada or now, I guess Jerusalem, because it was in a book. And yet if you say it's wrong they'll handwave it. But they'll still in the back of their mind think it's true because they read it.

You are assuming because you don’t know. And you’re making that specific assumption because you assume that Judaism works like Christianity. Here are some statements by sages who were the precursors of rabbinic Judaism; neither of them mention “belief in the existence of a deity” as central.
Pirkei Avot 1, 2: Shimon the Righteous [c. 300-275 BCE] was one of the last of the men of the great assembly. He used to say: the world stands upon three things: the Torah, the Temple service, and the practice of acts of piety. Pirkei Avot 1, 17: Rabban Shimon ben Gamaliel [c. 10 BCE-70 CE] used to say: on three things does the world stand: On justice, on truth and on peace, as it is said: "execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates" (Zechariah 8:16).
