But the same is not necessarily true when looking at the correlation between crime rates and crime going unsolved - here it varies a lot across crime types.

We also find that clearance rates across different major crime types (property, violent, etc.) are heavily positively correlated.

So we went and wrote a descriptive paper. What do we find? For example, that most of the variation in clearance rates is within cities.
