I was interviewed at CES this morning. We mentioned that consumers will decide whether they want to be on a platform that is “unfiltered free speech “ or “ moderated”. I mentioned that I loved @bsky.app , and spontaneously people started clapping 🔥.

As a strategy, I believe this is what those crazy kids down at London School of Economics would call "less than ideal."
Last week the Russian Central Bank sold 1 trillion in bonds to the banks in order to raise money to cover the 2024 government deficit.

The banks lacked liquidity to buy, so now the CB is lending the banks money to buy its own bonds.

All while using the same bonds as collateral for the loan.

My friend @iandunt.bsky.social let me borrow his substack to write about the Trumpian Tariffs, their Brexit parallels, and what it all could mean for the UK and the world.

Finally, a return on investment for my endless patience teaching him about comic books.

Moderately annoying is my superpower ⚡️
The most accurate way to describe early Bluesky history is there was a great battle like the one at the beginning of the Lord of the Rings between incredibly annoying people and moderately annoying people and the moderately annoying people won but maintain a watchful vigil against the dark eye

Agreed.
The time to prepare for a potential Trump government is now. But despite the urgent need this is not happening. European governments stick to their mentality of "wait & see". It is irresponsible not to prepare for the worst-case scenario, especially when our security is at stake.
It was a pleasure participating in today's @chathamhouse.bsky.social conference on Europe's strategic choices. The nightmare scenario ahead is a possible reelection of Trump. In that case NATO would be at risk. Since nobody can replace the US within NATO, we need to fight to keep it alive.

How great is this? An English Pub depicted on the Simpsons called “The Brexiting Swan” with the sign being a swan shooting itself in the foot.

Plus the delicious historical fact that pub signs were designed so illiterate people could identity the pub name from them.

Hello, Brexiters!
