The last time they did this people got killed from air dropped packages landing on their tents. Also, this is the most degrading way to deliver assistance to people and there are very good reasons why we don’t do food distributions like this anymore as a regular practice.

What's always striking to me about the pro-delivery argument is the idea that you want to work 24/7, that productivity is the highest goal, that no good thinking or grounding comes from pleasant domestic activities, that you don't need a break in which the sensory joys of cooking might be bonus...

last year I helped raise $40,000 for a family in Gaza. I was able to interview one of the beneficiaries, a journalist who escaped to Egypt just before his wife gave birth to their youngest son. I knew very little about Palestine before 10/7, but came to care because of the relentless stories I read
It’s not. It literally makes no difference. The most important lesson of the past ten years is that being an informed, empathetic, responsible citizen means fuck all. Unless you’re capable of assassinating Netanyahu and the senior leadership of Likud, you can do nothing about Gaza, period.
